SiW has programs specifically designed for young children, 12 months to 12 years old, allowing them to acquire Spanish naturally through playful interaction and entertaining full immersion (English translations are not used in class).
Classes are enriched by activities including songs, games, arts & crafts, story telling, snack-tivities and movement activities.
The program is all year round and made up of two semesters during the school year and a 7 week summer session. Classes vary from once a week for 45 minutes to 5 days a week for 3 hours for our preschool program.

This is a common misconception. The truth is that learning another language at an early age typically enhances a child’s English.
In our program only Spanish is spoken in the class. Learning is not by translation and the child learns naturally the same way they learn their native language.
This is the best time to expose your child to another language. Even though babies are not speaking yet, they are actively absorbing and processing language. A baby has twice as many brain synapses (connections) as an adult. Neural linguistic patterns develop rapidly in young children. Because of this, with methodical and consistent exposure to any number of languages, children can learn them all simultaneously. However if these pathways are not developed and used at a young age, the window of opportunity closes forever. (See ‘About Us’)
Yes! SiW classes will give your child the basis for learning the language. While at home, they will continue to be exposed to Spanish through our class music CD giving them consistent contact with the language. Also check out the ‘Learn at Home Links’ page for more great ideas
